CodeMash v2.0.0.8

In less than a month I’ll be attending CodeMash at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. It’s a two day conference for developers that’s hot about all dynamic languages.

I went last year and it was a blast. There were all sorts of demos on everything from Adobe’s AIR, Python’s web frameworks, to Microsoft’s Click-Once technology. All this was exhausting actually, since it started at 9am and went until around 6pm, with little breaks. But of course the indoor-outdoor hot tub helped! What an awesome geeky little vacation, which feels a step away from Geek Cruises.

Last year I was more interested in Python. It looks like I’ll be paying more attention to some of the Microsoft technologies, as it applies to my day job. Looking at the sessions, here’s a few that I’m very interested in:

  • Java Robots with PHP/.NET/Ajax, presented by Scott Preston
  • LinqTo<T>: Implementing IQueryProvider, presented by Bill Wagner
  • Sharepoint Services: My life with “Kate” MOSS 2007, presented by Leon Gersing
  • Working Offline with Dojo+Google Gears, presented by Kevin Dangoor
  • Software Design Patterns in Python, presented by David Stanek - (Couldn’t resist, this guys from American Greetings which is just down the street!)
  • Introducing Castle, presented by Jay R. Wren
  • Introduction to Workflow Foundation, presented by Keith Elder
  • Building Custom Workflow Activities in Workflow Foundation - A Developer’s Primer, presented by Keith Elder
  • Introducing Android, presented by Dick Wall
  • Distilling the Dynamic Language Runtime, presented by Josh Holmes

I’m sure I won’t be able to see all of them, since they overlap. They have a lot more sessions planned this year than last.

Highly recommended, and hopefully I’ll see you there!
