Here’s a utility everyone needs to download if they work with a lab of computers. It’s called Terminals. It lets you use RDP, VNC, SSH, and a few more from one tabbed interface. That’s the key word: tabbed. Having just two RDC sessions open and filling up my precious taskbar drives me crazy. Although the program has a few UI bugs, it’s far worth the trouble. Anyways, it’s very popular and it’s open-source which gives the project plenty of hope.

In less than a month I’ll be attending CodeMash at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. It’s a two day conference for developers that’s hot about all dynamic languages.

Living in the Browser

The browser has long been the killer application. It’s the gateway to information and sometimes the only reason that people turn on their computers. For example, my Mom is fairly computer illiterate, but knows how to use a browser. And that’s all she ever needs and justifies the computer. Since the browser is the gateway to everything from raw information to applications, keeping this explosion of information organized is a laborious no matter how technical you are. How best do you keep track of all those sites you need?
